The
BRV110 lets a home or small-office broadband Internet
account be used for low-cost voice over Internet
Protocol (VoIP) telephony. Each of its foreign exchange
subscriber (FXS) ports is the equivalent of a telephone
wall jack and allows connection of a standard touch-tone
telephone or fax machine.An auto-sensing 10/100-Mbps
Ethernet/Fast Ethernet port provides high-speed
network connectivity.
The connection to the Internet can be through
a cable or DSL modem. The FXS ports work independently
of each other and can be assigned different telephone
numbers. Voice/fax connections are established
using the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), an
open standard supported by the majority of VoIP
providers. Enhanced telephony features such as
call forwarding, conferencing, and blind/attended
transfer are supported where provided on the user's
VoIP account.
Setup is made easy by an embedded browser-based
configuration utility that gives the user point-and-click
control of all features. Once the BRV110 is in
operation, each attached telephone or fax machine
works as it ordinarily does ¡X while the BRV110
provides extraordinary savings on long-distance
calls. |
