DWG814
802.11b/g ADSL2+ Router
Introduction
The DWG814 is a combination ADSL2+ modem, IEEE 802.11b/g access point (AP), four-port Ethernet/Fast Ethernet switch, and router — an all-in-one solution for setting up a high-speed wired/wireless network with a shared broadband connection to the Internet. The modem supports the latest ADSL standards for a blazingly fast Internet connection. The AP allows convenient wireless access at speeds up to 11 (802.11b) or 54 (802.11g) Mbps. Four computers can be connected directly to the switch, or hubs or switches can be daisy-chained out to connect dozens of machines. The router provides a full set of convenience and security functions.

The built-in DHCP server automatically configures computers on the network for access to the Internet. Firewall and NAT functions protect the network from outside intruders. Wireless security can be ensured by WEP, WPA, or WPA2 authentication and encryption. MAC and IP address filters provide further control over access to the network, while internal users' access to the Internet can also be filtered. To allow authorized access from the outside, DMZ host, VPN passthrough, and VPN endpoint features are available. A setup wizard makes initial configuration quick and easy. A built-in browser-based configuration and management utility gives the user point-and-click control of all functions.

With the DWG814 at the center of a home or office network, all users can enjoy the convenience, security, and speed of the latest networking and Internet access technologies.

Features and Benefits

  • Wireless Internet Access
There is no need to run an Ethernet cable to the router for network access. The IEEE 802.11g standard lets users access the LAN and the Internet at speeds up to 54 Mbps. Users with 802.11b clients are not left out: the AP can support an 11b-only, 11g-only, or mixed 11b/g environment, protecting any previous investment in 802.11b equipment.

  • Integrated Four-port Auto-sensing MDI/MDI-X Fast Ethernet Switch
By automatically adjusting to the speed of each client and the polarity of the cable, the built-in switch makes connecting multiple computers for Internet access economical and easy. Four computers can be connected directly to the switch, or dozens can be connected through hubs or additional switches.
  • User-friendly Setup and Management
A setup wizard is provided to make initial configuration quick and easy. All setup, management, and monitoring functions can be accessed through the easy-to-use, built-in browser-based configuration and management utility. Users will feel right at home, managing the router and the network through their browser of choice.
