MS150-B
CyberTV
Introduction
The MS150-B CyberTV takes analog audio/video signals — a broadcast or cable TV signal, composite AV output, S-Video signals, analog stereo signals — digitizes them in real time, and streams them through a wired and/or a wireless network for recording and/or output on such devices as digital media adapters, portable media players, computers, Web-enabled cell phones, and network-enabled TVs.

For the greatest possible ease of use and interoperability with other devices, the MS150-B complies with Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) guidelines, acting as a media server that any DLNA-compliant media player on the network can contact and request content from. Media players can discover the MS150-B automatically through UPnP.

A setup wizard is included to make initial configuration quick and easy. The MS150-B’s embedded browser-based setup utility gives the user point-and-click control of all functions. Software included with the MS150-B turns any (or every) computer in the house into a media player with snapshot, recording, time shifting, playback and other exciting functions. The MS150-B and media player software will interoperate seamlessly with any other DLNA-compliant devices on the network.

Internet streaming can also be supported, letting the user access the MS150-B remotely from a computer or Web-enabled cell phone.

The MS150-B incorporates a hybrid TV tuner for reception of both analog and digital TV signals. Standard NTSC or PAL video is digitized to full D1 resolution at up to 30 frames per second for picture quality every bit as high as the original. Digitized content is streamed in compressed MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 format to conserve network bandwidth. Most input signals are looped through so other devices originally connected to them can operate as usual. An included IR blaster lets an AV device be controlled through the media player software.

With the MS150-B CyberTV, the days of running to the television to catch a program or play a tape are gone. All the “running” is done by the MS150-B and the media player!

Features and Benefits
  • Digital Distribution of Analog Content
The MS150-B puts a broadcast or cable TV signal, composite AV signal, S-Video signal, and analog stereo signals on the network in digital form for playback and/or recording on digital media adapters, portable media players, computers, Web-enabled cell phones, and network-enabled TVs.

  • Standards-based for Wide Interoperability
Compliant with UPnP Device Architecture 1.0.1, UPnP AV 1.0, and DLNA Home Networking 1.0, the MS150 will interoperate seamlessly with a host of products that support these specifications.

  • The Freedom of Wireless
The integrated IEEE 802.11b/g or 802.11a/b/g interface lets the MS150 and wireless media players be placed anywhere in the wireless coverage area. Laptops and portable media players let users move around freely while enjoying multimedia content. The MS150 can support a pure 11a, -b, or -g environment for maximum performance, and a mixed 11b/g environment to protect the user’s investment in legacy devices.

  • Networking User-friendly Setup and Operation
Setup wizards make MS150-B and media player in stallation quick and easy. An embedded browser-based utility gives the user point-and-click control of all functions, and allows configuration and firmware upgrades through any widely used Web browser.
